Literally as above...ive ridden it through the winter with just cleaning it only....normally at this time of the year (in about a months time) itll get stripped down and cleaned with an oil and plug change.....this years a bit different...it needs a fair bit more than that....
1. Oil change 2. Plug change 3. Rear shock out and off to Nitron for a full rebuild (about 4 years old or so) so its in need of it...plus i think the spring will need changing....i think when i specced it...the rear spring is too heavy.. 4. Front forks out, oil change. 5. Sump off, along with a bunch of other bits off to cerakote - exhaust system as well... 6. Throttle body balace. 7. Valve check. 8. Clutch change. At the TT last year over the mountain giving some serious hammering the clutch started to slip....when i went to a slipper clutch a while back i was lucky to get the whole lot which i put in. Ive still got my original plates so ill be swapping those out.
Roughly i think this is gonna weigh in at about a grand....the rear shock will be coming out next week maybe the week after (depends how the cash goes).....ive still got the oem one so thatll go back in for the moment so i can carry on using the bike. This is going to be quite a long thread so itll run for a while - dont worry - pics will be included...may throw in the odd you tube video as well...

Rear shock is now boxed up and ready to go.....i was going to send it back to Nitron for a service but found these guys by accident.... raceshocks.uk/manufacturer/nitron-racing-shocks/Gave them a ring and theyll strip the shock, put it through a bath (apparently 6 times) then dyno test it - its a 3 week turnaround service and they take photos of the shock as its being serviced....plus theyre cheaper than nitron and hold all the spares. They also offer a revalving service as they can upgrade that part of it.

Bit of a sideways update to the big service thread....a rear master cylinder has been on the back burner - but, my oem one with the bit of pipe does leak as the pipe's a bit big so i put a smaller bit of pipe in there - a sleeve to take up the slack but it still kinda works....got the RSV4 out yesterday after 6 months or so in hibernation....and - had a bit of a brainwave so bought a rear master cylinder for my RSV4 but for the zed...as you can see the reservoir is built into the master cylinder itself...the performance is really good as ive got one already....should be here in a few days... Edit so kind of a back fire on the above....muggins assumed the holes and the spacing would be identical but no....the Brembo unit above is a 40mm spacing and M6 the Zed OEM is 50mm spacing and m8 bolt size...id really like to use it if i can....so gonna look at some rearset options (ive always wanted to get some rearsets) looks like i am now!!

Rearsets are on order.....switched to plan B on the rear master cylinder front....ive taken the HEL rear master off the Hyper (last night) and fitted the RSV4 one above which pretty well bolted straight in. ive got the RaceTorx brake pipe thingy (cheers for the linky Lee) - i can get that bled and fitted to the stock footpegs and fit the rearsets afterwards...

Had a couple of hours in the garage last night while the other half was out with her mates getting smashed....successful plan B. HEL master cylinder fitted. Brake line is bled out and just using my hand it does feel like its got more feel/a bit more solid on the push....waiting for rearsets to turn up now...

Waiting for a break in the weather now, (cerakoter needs about 4 days) [while the zed is off the road i can use the hyper/dads 400/4 or skateboard to get to work] so theres a semi-engine strip on the cards so engine covers, exhaust and sump will be coming off for recoating. While its apart the clutch will be coming out for the plates from my original clutch as it was starting to give out a little bit at the TT last year.....but then by that time it had done about 15-18k on the existing plates...

Look at u go my boy, looking good, can't wait to see the rear sets on and it all back together, your bike always looks mint when it's gone through a strip and polishing..... And all I've done is fit a mudguard, and when I get it done a bracket welded on...
Feel lazy over hear...

Oh - the rearsets have turned up at home. Ive just ordered replacement Ti Fittings for it. As for the quality - yes surprisingly good. More pics later on. I wont be fitting those until the Ti fittings have turned up though...so probably the weekend.

Got an email back from the suspension guys....shock has been re-assembled and is currently being dyno'd - rear collar has been wound out a bit so ive got more scope on the preload for adjustment.
Ive not fitted the rearsets yet....nothing more than volume of work - my Hypermotard has been in a semi dismantled state waiting for a fuze box which turned up on Sunday so i spent the whole day doing that but, its still not 100% right (need to re-route some wiring)....ive been press-ganged into bricklaying on saturday so wont get to that until sunday....
