Thought the above was an appropriate thread title as it got planted into the front of one...
So, i cant wait any longer - its as good as on its way back to me so ive been shopping and found the 2 most crucial parts. The left hand frame spar (bought from lithuania for 26 quid) delivered. And, the left hand fork....found a brand spanker on ebay for 250 quid (just waiting for confirmation from them) the breakers to verify its right....i cant see the point of trying to get it straightened for 150 quid or so when i can get a brand new one...!
Once ive actually got the cash ill get the Nitron Cartridges on order. As soon as its back in the garage - wheels bodywork and anything else thats scratched is coming off....wheels and body work will be going straight off for respraying. The wheels....im getting painted as my mates mate assures me painting with some new ceramic infused paint will make them impurvious to chips which goes for the bodywork too....!

Just for a bit of clarity on how long my claim took....my next door neighbour got shunted from behind in his car a week ago....just saw him drive back in it....so, 7 days start to finish, hes got his car back in one piece....me...3 months of chasing and still nothing (albeit almost there but ill reserve judgement until its being dragged out of the back of the van)

Nice..... Thinking of u all the way bud since u broke the news of that day,so,so glad to see ure so positive about it all,and so glad u have the knowledge to do the work all yourself, with help from people u know who can do the bits u can't.... I know how smashing ure bike feels,to see ure pride and joy,as silly as it sounds but it Herts. Please share as much as u can with us as I'm feeling it and I can only wish u all the best with ure bike,as a friend, and meeting up with u seeing ure bike in the flesh and seeing how proud and chuffed with ure bike u are. It's alot of work u have done to it,it's a zed and a half.... I'm gutted for u mate, and I can call u that, even if I only met u once, but I got how much of a nice guy u were from meeting u,ure a credit to ure parents,a true nice guy, who's always willing to help or advice others.... I don't give my foot plates to just anyone mind,I did it becouse u are the person I met.... All the best with ure zed mate, with u all the way bud....

I hope sp..! Costs: I got 7.5k for the bike. Im getting 4.5k back in cash (or just under) and getting the bike for 3k but ive yet to see paperwork for the bike and they money in the bank...! (Its not come through yet) rough costs are about 3k to get it back on the road but im sure itll go over....thats including the Nitron Cartridges....
Just been back out in to the garage to check to see if the battery is charging and its not....totally fucked....not that its any fault of the battery....the ignition key was on, the gps is always drawing current from the battery to charge itself and when it was delivered back the key was in and turned. So, new battery as well! - it was a lithium and one thing the dont like is being ran totally flat.
Tank is ok - no marks on it plastics 95% good apart from the rad panel that got shreded ( i got a spare though). The left hand panel that clips to the tank has a small quarter inch crack but im sure that (well, i know) that can be repaired....theres nicks, chips and scratches all over the body work (6 years or daily use) so its getting a spray job no matter what...
Im pretty sure the wheels are ok (definately the back) ill be checking the front tomorrow if the impact has bent one of the forks 0.03mm im pretty sure thats not going to affect the front wheel....
By tomorrow afternoon itll be stripped to the point i can start rebuilding.

Oh, forks and yokes will be coming out also along with the clocks....gonna get the yokes certakoted along with the clamps...
The forks - not sure how to tackle those yet....no matter what the cartridges are getting ordered. They'll get sent to me then its .....
a. strip and fit them myself (but ill need to buy the special tool to take the old cartridges out (seems like a waste as ill only use it the once). The fork bottoms i need to get cerakoted as theyre probably the worst part of the bike....
b. Take them to the local suspension guy, get him to strip them....i take away the bottoms, get them coated then drop them and the cartridges back to get them rebuilt....
Thing is, ive had my ohlins NIX's apart and once the forks are converted then theyre very easy to strip....loathed to pay someone else...no matter what, 1200 quids worth of cartridges are going in, i want the outers to look good...

Funny i was chattng the the bloke that bought it back and he has a Ducati V4S in there he was dropping back to someone....apparently the bike fell over, damaged a couple of bits of plastic....but, the bik was written off as the gear lever bent in and scratched the engine casing (light gouge) so they wrote the bike off....! it looked brand new...

Light at the end of ure dark tunnel,so pleased to hear ure plan, and the cost isn't out of ure own pocket, and u will have money left over to play with, and so u should..... I know it's not how u would have wanted it to pan out,but in all farenes it's the best result out of a crap situation. Just so glad it's all gone in ure favours bud,and that u are capable of doing most of the work ureself, which is a huge bonus,if it was me IDE be f@#+ed. As I haven't a clue.... So happy for u,and the speed u are getting on with it is rediculas,a credit to u for showing people on this forum, that u can dust ureself of and get back on it, truly inspirational story. And one that lets people see a bike can be repared, and not to just give up!!!! Can't wait to see it all done,is it going to change colour now.....ooow... So excited,it's luck lockdown biker build....
