If I get my bike back this weekend, I might be able to slip in mine on a dyno on monday, but I'm also very inerested in your readouts

I noticed the other day watching a you tube video of a Versys getting a service and noticed that blanker plate that goes in the airbox is literally blanked off....so it appears they must use the airbox to tune for different power delivery.....you, could, use this, block off the hole and put that in....however i would say, lopping the bottom off the airbox is a better option as that gives a nice bit of clearance between the bottom of the airbox and the top of the motor (cooler air going through the airbox gives better detonation)....but, its an option if you dont want to saw up your airbox...or cant... www.motorcyclespareparts.eu/en/kawasaki-parts/2018-versys-1000-motorcycles/air-cleaner

So i rode back my bike today , and it does feel different, feels like the z has more power / throttle response in the lower end. I only covered the cut out with reflective tape, as this bit would be the main area that gets warmed up due to radiation heat. Now we all need to get our bikes onto a dyno 😁

So here is my outcome! Didnt share it on the uk forum yet... my apologies! 30th of june i wnet i to the dyno. Acording to the tuner his new softwRe is showing less hp and torque than before. I have to add 10hp and 8nm of torque to the read out. Mods done sofar: DNA airfilter, airboxmod, ais system removed, ecu flash by Ivan, finetune on pc5, stockheaders, decatted with custom made linkpipes and dual akra slipons(baffles removed) , shell v-power in the tank. As said by the tuner i shoukd have 149hp (+10 hp on the wrinkeld read out) Also posted it on a uk z1000 owners facdbook page. These guys giving me so much grief.. saying its impossible to get 149hp with my mods and even claiming that my 2017 readout (145 hp) is off aswell. Right after the dyno i wasn't happy with the read out myself, but im pretty sure it hasn't dropped to 139 hp. Even bfore i posted on fb and got grief from its members, i already booked another dyno run at the same place as 2017. That one is going down on 18th of july. Hopefully rhat will put my mind at ease.

The tuner with the odd readings also suggested, that switching to reaceheaders would be the last area where i could win some horsies without messing aabout with internals.

Just to say (on here) one of the lads on the z1000.com forum got his mapped with the airbox mod...151 at the wheel....lovely...and he got that on the black widow pipes (smaller bore than my arrows) so when i can actually get there (to the Dyno) im hoping for the same results....also...it proves that its a worth while mod (for the price!)
