Ok, back in...gonna ramble for a little bit now....
First and foremost...arse dyno tells me...snappier, definately snappier, cant feel anything more in the power dept but, i could only really go out for about 15 mins just to get the engine warmed up a bit. Seems to have more bite in 5th and 6th too. The other main consideration is, mines been mapped so, the true test of this will be to put it back on the dyno. I think i might take it out again and re drill my holes that i had in my old one as that did give it a nice deep induction roar and id say listening to it, its lost that, but, i could end up doing that and loosing power....very swings and roundabouts...also obvioiusly the airbox now, doesnt skim close to the engine so thats going to help airflow and, heat also (could also be helping).
On the whole id say good....mine cost me an airbox 25 quid and a roll of heat reflecting tape (about 50 quid). The roll i bought i thought would leave me with loads spare but didnt....
To the OP: obviously youve taken pictures of yours, did it go back into a bike? and if so, did it go on the dyno and if so what are your opinions..?

The surplus glue just cracks away. Its a bit proud on one side but ill trim that down with the Dremmel once it all glued up... How's it going everyone Been on hiatus. Crazy lockdown here in Manila. Anyhow looking good what you did. Exactly what i did. Just make sure you wrap it with heat reflective tape after so you can get air inside cooler than normal. Unfortunately can't get my bike on dyno til this lockdown is over. They extended it til the 15th of next month and God knows if it really enda there or not. If you have access on dyno go right ahead and get it. But like i said during our convo over the email i felt night and day of difference when i had all the bolt-ons on plus that airbox mod. On my buddy's zx he pushed 209 at the back on pump gas with that airbox mod but then again that's a zx. But before i decide to do it on the z i compared both airboxes and they really looked similar. So from there i went on. Cheers guys

Thanks for the pic of the intakes cut out...ill do that next. Its not an expensive part to replace so its worth doing...anything to get more air in there...!

Oh sweet i see you have done them already. Glad to hear you are noticing the difference. Just imagine when you are doing 120mph the rush of air going through there and that airbox mod. Im sure it would do some gains. I guess now we wait for some dyno results. I dunno who will be the first but i promise as soon as i get on the dyno i would post results asap.

Glue: i used Gorilla glue - takes a while to set....so i tended to do a length leave it so it kinda finds its way in....then do another side the next day...it bubbles up so just cut the excess off.. The Plate: I used an old tea tray...anything thats stiff...id stick to plastic as thats going to mate better with the glue.... Blanking plates: Yep all good....has it been to the dyno? - obviously be increasing the air intake its going to run leaner....so if youve not been to the dyno then its running already lean with your full system....so more air in again is going to make it run leaner.... Wow - you got yours for 15 quid....thought mine was cheap!!

No Dyno time as yet,as I was going to get it done when the weather picked up. But this caronavirus kicked in,and messed me up. So as soon as I can I will get it dynoed, will it hert my bike running it as is for a bit, will it. I know it's a 2017 but do I have to worry about the plugs,or anything else running it lean.... I don't really know what I'm doing , I'm learning as I go,but I won't,tread, were I'm not shore,as I don't want to damage my bike, with anything I do as I'm a complete nob, when it comes to doing the smallest things,I've rounded off more bolt's than I can remember,so if anyone needs me to do that I'm a professional....

I would say get the airbox done and ready then fit it just before you hit the dyno...or if you really want to fit it....dont rant the shit out of it...(as thats when it will be leanest)!
