I never thought I'd be boring enough to talk about bike insurance, but.... I insured my Z750 last week with a company called Direct Choice and was very impressed. For myself - (six points, full no claims, nine years riding) and the other half - (three years riding, one outstanding accident claim), both 36 - I paid £105 fully comp including legal protection. My current broker (Motorcycle Direct) wanted £190 and that is for the same Equity Red Star Policy. Their website is www.directchoice.co.uk and they're a medium but well established brokers based in Cheltenham. Well worth giving a try in the future!

I paid £270 comp with euro breakdown in July for my 04 636, then a further £135 in Nov for my Z1000 from Carole Nash, that's £405 total. Just got a quote of £138 excluding breakdown from Direct Choice! I know where I'm going in July...Carole's just been nashed
