I Know exactly how PhilC is feelin after doing the same this time last year..... Hope your allright mate...a few pints down the pub and the dent in pride soon goes, its the repair bills that hurt more. I must say though "how did the Light cover manage to stay on?", coz that was the first thing to depart my machine whilst it was diving into the hedgerow.
PS. How did it happen?

I'm glad he's okay, but that sucks. Did something similar myself last February and I felt proper gutted and in my circumstances frankly a bit of an idiot...
But, bikes get mended (good old flexible friend) and I've tried to learn something from it.
Hope the bike gets well soon and your bumps and bruises heal (my ribs hurt bad for a couple of weeks - never known pain like it when I coughed or sneezed..).

Thanks for all of your support guys. i was going to try and fix the bike without claiming off the insurance but since the wheel is buckled and one disc warped I'm worried that there is more severe damage to either the forks or frame. With the damage to the seat unit and radiator I thought it was prudent to get a garage to take a look at it. Once I have had the bad news i will probably be on the scrounge if they will give me the cash

In the USA they did a 2006 636 with silver forks, brakes etc. I got these with 13 (thirteen) miles on the clock. Love those forks & calipers

Hi Sundaymornin what belly pan is that? I am liking the look of it, where did you get it and how much did it cost? Do you kno wif they do it in green? Or did you have it painted?

Lister - Flat bars would hit your tank on full lock unless you get some kind of riser. The ultra lows will fit straight on and won't foul on your tank, although they are very close.
Jezzreenz1000 - The bellypan is made by pyramid plastics. They do supply them already painted in the more obvious Z1000 colours i.e black, green, orange & red and the price is £149.99. You can buy them unpainted for £109.98 and sort the spraying out yourself (like I had too).
Word of warning though, this pan will hit the ground if your overly enthusiastic on the bends, it is on the underside though and not too noticable.

Ultra Lows are about an inch or so lower than standard apparantly. They do feel different but not drastically so. I suppose I would notice the difference more if i was to refit the standard bars.
Its kinda like fitting a performance exhaust, you don't really appreciate it until MOT time comes along and you have to fit the original one.
