Hi all. First of all, a small intro. My name is Pedro, 25 yo, from Portugal. I don't have much of a bike history .. I bought my first one, a small 50cc, 9 years ago but soon after I got a car and left the bike on the side. Now I want to get my first 'real' bike and I'm having a hard time choosing. I love the looks of the 07 Z750 but the hard seat and the poor suspension (that's what I've read) are not helping me with my decision making. I'm also looking into Honda's Hornet and Suzuki's GSR. I've read tons of reviews but any additional comments would be amazingly welcome Thanks!

Hi mate! and welcome
Personnaly, unless you ant the ABS, I would rather go for an 03/06 Z750, a lot cheaper than a new 07. having said that there are great deals on new 07 models even 08 ones.
I understand the best bike around is the triumph street triple...well thats what the magazines say.
The seat is indeed very hard. Suspensions not great but you can fit a zx6 shock if you want. also it depends how good an fast a ridder you are I guess. the original rear shock might be more than enough for your ridding.
anyway i had a Z750s and Z750N before (not an 07 one though)
you could get a Z750N with loads of modifications for a good price!
also maybe best for the 750 ridders to give their opinion...

Welcome to the forum mate. The answer to your question is YES, you should buy a Zed, then modify it to suit yourself

First, read this review, including the owners reviews; www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/bikereviews/searchresults/Bike-Reviews/Kawasaki/Kawasaki-Z750-2007-current/?&R=EPI-90886Yes the seat is a little hard, and the suspension is questionable when you push the bike. BUT, they are the only downsides to what is a great package. The engine is sweet and full of torque, it's chuck able and responsive, looks the nuts and has a plethora of custom and aftermarket equipment available. I test rode both the Hornet and the FZ6, there wasn't much in them against the Z750, but the 750 is by far cheaper. The best bike in class is the Speed Triple, according to the magazines, it's also the most expensive, (and I think that look is dated). The only way you'll decide is by riding the bikes your interested in, so get some rides in and take your time. Ollie

Hi Pedro and welcome, I was in the same confused state as you as there are lots to choose from I have a green 07 plate Z750 which I have owned for 6 weeks and I love it already!! In my opinion it is the best looking bike of all the middle weight nakeds out there and looks much better than the old version Mine is a green one and it looks fantastic in the sunlight!! ;D The bouncy suspension can be sorted if you like (just got a zx10 shock to fit myself and there are loads of thing you can do to customise it too! I am waiting for a free campbell sidewinder exhaust to be fitted as we speak!! Get one you won't regret it!! Hi all. First of all, a small intro. My name is Pedro, 25 yo, from Portugal. Without a doubt you need to get a Zed, I've had various styles of bike from Fazers, to supermoto and I must say the Zed fits like a glove. The seat does numb your arse after a bit but its all part of its charm. I can honestly say its one of the best looking naked bikes you could buy imho, and the most rewarding, head turning piece of kit on the road. Even in standard trim......you won't be disappointed. Never felt the need personally to change any suspension components myself. Its all down to taste and everyones own unique stamp......get one

Thank you all for your replies, they've been very helpful I went to the Kawasaki dealer the other day and found out about a nice campaign that they are having with the Zed. When you buy one you get accessories, for bike and rider, worth around €1.300. Now that's a nice little extra One thing that's not helping with my choice at all is that all the main dealers here in my area, Kawa, Honda and Suzuki don't have any bikes for test-drive purposes. I'm a bit reluctant on buying a bike without testing it first

Had my 04 750 18mths now and it's only recently the suspension is beginning to irritate me, I quite enjoyed it before! Personally, I've never had a problem with the seat; I did have the engine vibration that oddly enough diminished when I put on the race can. I bought mine without trying it and have loved every single minute on it so far ;D
