What have other people got out of their Z750?
I think the book says about 138mph, but my clock read 151mph on the motorway while I was over there. Is that accurate or is the book price wrong?
Cheers

The speed over reads by about 8% on the Z1000 and I would asume about the same on the 750, I have read alse where that 108mph on my Z1000 is a true 100mph tested by gps, so a reading of 151 sounds about right, I have seen 157mph on my clocks, which is about 145mph, and could have gone some more but wind buffeting and paranioa got the better of me ;D

Only managed to get 135 on the clock before the back of my head was trying to sqeeze between my shoulderblades. And that was with the new screen fitted!

On a recent trip to Germany (Nurburgring) I got 149mph as displayed on my sat nav (max speed function) the speedo tends to read about 9% high so it was probably showing over 160mph, I was flat on the tank so never got the chance to look.

Next track day I'm gonna tape it up - it's just too tempting....

157mph on the z750!? jeeeeesus!! 8% off my 151mph would be 138mph so that sounds about right i guess!! when i was doing that, i had a tank bag full of beer as well... so wasn't quite as prone as i could have been!!! i've got the kawasaki screen on (not the vario, but the smaller touring screen) which helps, but it was quite a struggle doing that speed. someone asked if there was a tail or head wind... FUCKED IF I KNOW AT THAT SPEED!!!!! still, great fun going up to Rock n Blues with some mates next week - won't be going quite that fast this time... one of my mates only has a Honda CB500!!!!!!! 1) Buy a Baglux tank cover for a Kawasaki Z750 2) Buy a Baglux tank bag 3) Fit the tank cover 4) Attach the bag to the cover Nursey

I'm hoping to get to the top speed day that straightliners are running at Elvington the weekend after next, should get a better idea then of top whack. Yeah I know I'm on the wrong bike for all that top speed shenanigans but £50 to welly it down a runway a few times and get a fine-free speeding ticket at the end of it sounds good to me

Righto...did the top speed day at Elvington. First 'sighting' run equalled the bike's claimed top speed @ 138.8mph. Got a couple more mph each run until eventually doing two successive 147.4mph runs through the timing gate after 1.5 miles down the runway. The clock was reading 165mph as I went through the gate, I was flat to the tank, arse in the air and my left hand holding the fork leg, also had removed the mirrors. My zed is stock apart from a blueflame slip-on, dyno'd at 103.8bhp a couple of months back. When it hit the limiter in top on the dyno it was showing 169mph which would seem to equate to a genuine 150/151mph on the limiter. Either way I think 10mph more than the claimed top speed ain't bad, but its also apparent that the speedo is way out at those speeds. What was cool, was that my brother's 1200 bandit only managed 143 (struggled to get into the 140's until we started pulling bits off the bike), there was a naked GSXR750 beam-frame which managed 145 and a guy on a busa who got 142 (he was quite a large chap though) so I'm chuffed with the speed of my zed. Project 250 (Jack Frost on the Holeshot turbo busa) was also there and I got to watch that launch from the top of the runway on his way to a 247mph run. Now there's quick and there's QUICK.
