As above...took my RsV4 to AP workshops for a valve check and it turns out it needs a full engine strip (cam chain tensioners are shot) - its sounded like a sewing machine for ages but i thought thats just how they sounded!!!
After chatting with Griff (the guy that runs ap workshops) the valve check gets done anyway, cam chain tensioners get done, along with a grearbox check and some other stuff....looking at the thick end a grand but, ive owned it for 13 years and this is the first bit of engine work its needed...specialist tools are also needed which i dont have...plus if i get anything wrong then the motor detonates.
Been running the zed through the winter and cleaning it but thats about it....so its just about to get a full over haul. Plugs, oil, tyres initially along with a complete strip down and clean.
Its either the zed or the hyper but as much as i love the hyper its a short range tool whereas the zed is smooth and comfy.! so its winning the battle at the moment...

Was at MH Racing last night getting a baseline setup for the suspension. Ive had the Nitron pro fork cartridges in the bike for the last couple years but never had them set up properly.....i managed to set up my RSV4 myself and ive got that good.....thought i could do the zed but what i thought was a good setup.....well, wasnt....it took Mark about 30 mins of messing to get it done. Well, now it fucking handles....really well. So, thats the next job complete.
Tomorrow ill be changing my commuter, flat spot tyres for the new supercorsa's (v4 on the rear v3 on the front). Off out in a bit to pick up some fresh exhaust packing.

Hey Sir...when I'm back we'll go out for a ride....all we ever seem to be doing is fixing stuf ( and upgrading now and again as well!). Which is ironically what I'll be doing tomorrow...expect to be in the garage most of the day....

Well, made it back....zed performed admirably.....had one issue where i was down on coolant which caused the clutch to slip due to the high temp of the engine oil. Topped up the coolant in a garage just outside of Ramsey which sorted that out. Beautiful handling now. Itll be resting for next years tt - plan is to take the RSV4.
