i found with the stock rear brake ,on my z1000, no matter what pads were fitted it was pretty poor, the only way i improved it was to fit a rear stainless brake pipe, ... a Brembo rear caliper is prob the way to go for more rear stopping power ....

i tend to use the rear brake to squat the bike and assist in heavy braking but nothing likr the front where all the real breaking is done, you dont want the rear brake to sharp as it will lock up under heavy braking as the weight on the rear unloads, or if you have it your traction control will cut in, there is a train of thought that the organic pads are ideal over the sintered ones, for rear brakes as they have the initial bite under cooler conditions but not so feirce on heavy braking as the weight unloads on the rear...

I hardly ever use the rear brake, only if I need to stop very quick then it slam them all on. But as already said I don't think the rear is supposed to ever be sharp stopping power,I've never had it on any bike I've owned. And I don't want rear wheel lock up!!!

Well... I'd say with a brembo rear.... Not only do you get the increased braking.... You get... The "feel"..... Which is worth a lot.... The conversion bracket doesn't cost that much and bolts straight in...

I did like the rear brembo on your bike when I saw it,and I wouldn't mind that just to match up with the front. But wouldn't have a clue where to find order and fit the parts. IDE like to know how much it would cost for the parts,as I've got the Money, the same as the rear master cylinder,Ide like to upgrade my bike as much as I can,but I would need alot of help to do so,even with ordering the parts,so it would be hard to do so. But it would do my bike justice to do so as Im keeping this bike,as I'm very happy with it....

It's ok,I haven't a clue it's all gone over my head, but I'm not that clever anyway so it doesn't take much....

is the black p34 a high quality rear caliper? similar to their super sport caliber?? sorry comfy, i donβt know anything about brembo calipers other then their reputation as being one of the best. thanks for helping with this. Well, im not too sure....i think the cheaper one has the smaller piston size. If cash is a problem just get a cheap secondhander and upgrade at a later date...they have gone up in price a lot (got mine a couple of years ago for Β£330.00 delivered) - personally id say go with the expensive one.....

Yep - thats it...the only thing you may need is a new brake line....ooh and maybe a couple of M8 bolts to hold the caliper on....i got some Ti ones...
As i say...you only have to pull the rear wheel spindle out partially and the old carrier will drop out along with the caliper. Disconnect the brake line and speed sensor and thats it....replace with the new one..
