Cheers sir. Didnt get anything done yesterday. Road trip in the van with my mate to go and pick up a Dorso 1200 (for him) - the furthest West ive ever been. Norfolk. 5 hours to get there....and a bit less back....so that took yesterdays work off the itinerary. However got a bit done today....

Fixed an issue with the front wheel thats been a pain for a few years - since theyve been on there. Theyve always been a bit too wide - to the point that ive always had to prize the forks apart to get the wheel in. So, some time back i thought it shave a bit off the right hand spacer with a hack saw....couldnt then get the calipers to locate properly on the discs so literally put the cut off bit back in....fail in that i made it a slight bit worse....so, fast forward to a couple of week when i dropped the wheel off. Obviously i had to strip them down to get them coated. When i took the carriers (that hold the disc) off i found that they (Marchesini) put spacers (thick washers) behind the carriers. So, an hour of messing around with some thinner washers ive now got a perfect fit. Result.

so no color change? I'm in the middle of trying to do a color change on my bike as well. Was going to paint some of the orange panels in Piaggio Rosso Fluo color (RSV4 red accents), but no in my area that I found knows how to paint fluo so I'm kinda stuck at either sending everything out to someone 3000 miles away or risk someone doing a shit job and paying a grand for something that doesn't come out as intended. Body work labour rates in the states are ridiculous compared to europe.

Oh. Here's the weight of a front disc. 1451 grams. Thanks for weighing these. The Brembo Oro discs that I'm using weigh 1524g's, while the OE flower power discs weighed only 1261g's, though those were 3rd gen 300mm size instead of 310mm. I do like the t-drive style floating attachment mechanism on these though. Most probably will upgrade to these once/if the Brembo's warp (which they are kind of starting to a bit)

Having said that I might still get the old panels repaired and sprayed in the gen 1 orange...
