I've always upgraded suspension on my bikes, that's where the fun is for me. It'll be just shy of a grand for the cartridges and the work. I know it's a lot of dough, but I plan to keep the bike for a long time,so I have to play the game and cough up!
The hard part will be waiting for better weather to try them out! They were picked up today,so it'll be a while before I see them again.

Sounds great,Ide love to be able to do it to mine.... I'll have to put it on my wish list, but u never know I may seek ure advice if I find a bag of money... Fingers crossed... Ure bike is looking sweet my boy,I think if I didn't buy it in my colour,I think the colour u have is very nice, much better than the Matt black 2018 my mate got. I know it's sounds I'm up my own,but I love the colour sleek of mine and ures the most.... Then maybe the blue and grey.... Keep the pics coming...

Cool stuff arrived today from SSR suspension. It's gonna be a while yet before there is any road test report, but something to anticipate anyway. This is what the stock big piston fork internals look like on the Z1000. In the pic the bottom is the left fork leg with preload only, the top is rebound and compression only. The K-Tech kit gives preload, compression and rebound in each fork.

what’s the word on the k-tech front forks. is there a huge difference from the stock forks?

Yo ZM. I'm still exploring setting for the forks, one click at a time then ride it for a while. The really big difference so far,is the higher speed handling. The faster you go,the better it feels. It's still set fairly hard for comfort riding,I'll report further if I find that compromise 'leave it alone' setting. My tyres are coming near the end of their lives, the front especially is well beyond it's best,so the tweaking will begin again in earnest once I have new rubber fitted. Just now I'm concentrating on destroying the remainder of the old tyres.

I seem to have stopped tweaking now. I fitted a set of Power 5s a couple of thousand miles ago and everything feels great to me. The bike is sharp on the faster stuff and no longer hammers out my teeth on the more rubbish roads.
Whether everything is bedding in nicely,or the warmer weather is helping, but the ride is a lot more plush now than stock.
I'm generally just getting on with riding the bike now,so that in itself says something.
