Thought id give all you zed nerds something to look forward to....i literally just went in the garage to start, took the end can off to get going and found out i need the "special tool" to get the swing arm out....33 quid for a castle shaped socket thats not currently in stock at Fowlers so just mailed my mate to get one on order. The Plan is to remove the swing arm, get it stripped and recoated. Once ive got access to the back of the motor i can give that a good clean also.....im currently up in the air with the coating...either cerakote or powdercoat....normall id go cerakote but our local powder coating bloke specializes in bike stuff and something like that he normally does 2 coats....an undercoat for weather proofing and then a top coat....he did my ktm 5 years ago and it looks like new still and im guessing its going to cost half the price.....
Im busy next weekend all weekend. So assuming the tool comes in between now and then ill start the weekend after - loads of pics incoming...! (when i start)....

Dint you just love the special tool RIP off lol ..you need the same tool or similar if you drop the motor out to undo the engine mounts... Powder coat sounds good 👍

Yes.... "Ze old...special tool ploy eh" (say it like Inspector Cluseau...)
And i cant see it being used anywhere else on the bike!
Ill get 20% off on it though (and the bearings) so, not too bad..!

Parts are in at fowlers... However a couple of things have just got in the way... First and foremost the sprag clutch starter on my hyper looks like it's on the way out.... About 250 to 300 to sort... And... My late father's bike is back at my place... Its been in a damp shipping container for the last 5 or 6 years.... Ive had to get it brought back now as my mate is selling his trailer so it's the only chance I've got... Plan is to strip it on Saturday, clean as much as I can, store and get it back together...it looks ok but the damp air has gotten to it, spokes rusty, fork tubes pitted, needs a full service, front brake is non existent and fair few other things....its my dads old bike so i want to make a good job of rebuilding it....initially itll just be a good wash, strip down and store then get all the corroded bits sorted (both wheels need new spokes) so need a complete rebuild etc etc...loads to do...but, its my dads bike and has a lot of sentimental value.

Hypermotard back together....back on the zed. Tmed it perfectly (not) as theyve just announced the lock down....incoming pics....(theyre on my phone!!)
For some inexplicable reason i cant get onto tapatalk to upload my pics...assuming i cant for whatever fucking reason....
1. Its all apart. 2. Swing arm is out. TBH quite easy. You really only need a set of footpeg stands to hold it. 3. Spawned more work than i expected (In a good way)
Ill see if i can sort out the picture uploading then ill talk more about it....as theres stuff i didnt expect (not bad) and didnt allow for quite a few extra spares (which i picked up today at the local bike shop...
