Quickshifter's have me confused, as you change up you don't need to use the clutch lever, correct? and don't need to twist the throttle in between change, Correct? Just wind it back as you accelerate, but do you need to use the clutch lever when changing down? And what time do you save? I can understand on a race track, but every other racer would have them, but whats the point on the road? As for the rain on your bike need to get the wife/girlfriend holding the brolly for you

2 types of shifters, 1 for up changes, just cuts the ignition or fuel flow dependent on which 1 you have to unload the gearbox to enable the shift... 2 nd type and these are usually o.e.m., they blip the revs as you hit the lever, automatically on the downshift, as you would when manually shifting down gears, again unloading the box for the downshift and stopping wheel lock up if you ain got a slipper clutch.. just for fun on the road but does sound good and there is a time saving when going through the box and drag raceing your m8...

I can understand on a race track, but every other racer would have them, but whats the point on the road? As for the rain on your bike need to get the wife/girlfriend holding the brolly for you On ours (old stylee bikes) you literally hold the throttle open and bang it up through the gears.....whats the point on the road....? youll gain a good 10% on your acceleration (youll think your riding a new bike!) and yeah sounds cool as . Rob had problems with his healtech - mines been on for 4 years now with no issues (Mines a HM). Ive got a Healtech on the Hypermotard (nothing else will fit from what i can see) when my engine got stripped 18 months back or so (the QS had been on there for 18 months) the mechanic commented the gearbox was in perfect nick....if he said anything else i would have removed it. The only thing is with the retro fit QS's like ours youll find a "Sweetspot" for the change. Change too low and itll feel clunky and stiff. Change to high and you have to be harder with the gear change. Having said all of the above i dont use mine all of the time...far from it...only if i need to "catch" someone ro "leave" someone as it were....If you can afford it a translogic with an adjuster on the bars for the timing would be the most best option...not cheap though...but...y'get what you pays for....
