Hello Guys, So always pop into my local Kawasaki dealer every few weeks or so, just to check out the new bikes and dream but also to be blown away by the price of bikes these days, £11.000 £12.000 for a motorbike, could buy a bloody good car for that kinda money, but anyway as i walk around looking and thinking, do i need another bike? something catches my eye, shes standing over to my right and acting all coy, the little minx, i walk over to her and look her up and down, she's naked, she's a sexy little wench, she's the new Z400 and the price is £4.999. i steps back to read the information, i don't have five grand on me but i could go monthly payments, or even get a bank loan. ok i don't think i will buy one yet, maybe next year or even second hand, but the reason for writing this is i was custions about the insurance for the bike, so just went on line to Bennits, and filled in the online quote form, put details of the bike, the form doesn't understand you don't have the bike just want a quote so have to may i own said bike! details of qwork etc, you know the drill, So the last part is the excess they want you to lose, as that what it boils down to, so i put £100. it goes off on its little calculation for a few seconds and then comes up with the quote, £325 for the year fully comp, then i see compulsory excess is £250 and mine of a £100 makes it £350, it then tells me i could lower the premium if i raise my figure, so i take it up to £500, so this figure is now £750 i thought it would come back with something silly like £80 insurance, but no it came back with £300, What i shouted out aloud, i raise my excess by £400 so it the worse happened i am out of pocket by £750 never mind what they offer and all they can do is knock £25 off the quote. Oh and if i want, my leathers covered, or injury cover etc this is all extra, so what the hell I'm i paying insurance for?

I know it's a joke,my mate got multi bike on his,he owns 4 bikes,2 bandit 1200 a bandit 650 and a 2018 z1000r. I struggle to pay the tax, insurance, and upkeep on just 1 bike,I know he got multi bike insurance. how people do it is beyond me... Bennetts are a con anyway,I was with them, there just a broker for insurance group's anyway, they trued putting mine up so I left... Make u understand why people just don't bother, and take the risk... Everything they do to the motorist is about extracting money, cus crime don't pay,if a house gets broken into,or old lady gets robbed etc they don't bother with to much,no money in that, but if it's a motorist,is speed camera, insurance,tax,fines... then that makes money, most people who got a car, bike etc work pay tax, national insurance, better off not working and having nothing... I'm with Grove and dean if that helps u in anyway...

I think its about time the Government looked into the Insurance World, [but there again that would be like the lunatics checking out the aslylum] I gets my bike robbed from work two and half years ago,a bike i spent more money on than i spend on myself, going with out food etc just so i can buy another set of plugs, oil, throttle cables etc etc, she never wanted for anything, she might have been 20 years old but she looked like she had come out of the show room, and ok she was only an ER5, But she was mine, some little shits came into the carpark while the guard had his back turned and they carried her out, later that night she went up in flames, as she was burnt out the insurance guy said they couldn't really see the value, amd the money i had spent, even though i sent them photos and receipts, so they offered me £600 which i hummed and rrrd over for a couple of weeks, i needed the money so took it in the end, then they said we have to take the compulsory excess out now and then paid me £350. What the hell was i supposed to do with that, and that was after ten years no claims.
Now the other week back a chap at work in his car gets hit by a women going though a red light, his car was a write off, and the insurance paid him £500 for the car [ old car!], but he drives a hire car, told us he's got it till the insurance is settled, he is going for treatment on his legs, even though he's fine and works with no injuries, so to cut this short, he is going to claim off her so he ends up with a new car! My neighbours was the same two years ago, someone hit them, and they end up with another car, ok its second hand but they still drive, i ended up with nothing! So why do insurance compaines seem to have one rule for motocycles and one for cars?

So sorry to hear it's bike got pinched bud, doesn't matter what bike it was or what year, condition.etc it was yours,o.k. u looked after it,it was in good nick,by what u said, and I believe u. If it's gonna spend money on something, and let's face it bikes aren't cheep,no matter what bike,u may aswell look after it I saiy, but people who take other people's stuff, really jar me off,if u want something so bad, then go to work, and buy it, don't take someone else's stuff, just cos u can... I've heard alot of story's where the one who has his/her pride of joy stolen, smashed into, and rote off becouse the thief was bord,or the driver wasn't insured, and there out of pocket. What wrong with this country we live in,they should be made to pay for it,by any means necessary,it wasn't there's,to touch in the first place.... Same goes for people who brake into other people's houses,or sheds, garage etc...its not your place to be,and believe me,I will defend mine, ask the forener who tried to brake in my patio once at 3 in the morning, lucky for him I Had my titanium mivv double gun exhaust on the table,he caught a taste of that... It's on the pic of my old zed 2008 I posted.... :-) If it's not your then stay away from it,I saiy....

Well, i know some of you will say...wow rich but, ive got 4 bikes...but to add a bit of balance i tend to work 50 hour weeks, have absolutely no other hobbies as such, dont drink, dont smoke and dont really go out...its all bikes. All of my bikes are 8k or less id say (the supermoto being only a few k). Just had my renewal back for 5 bikes at 650 quid fully comp which while high is about 70 quid less than last year. The 5th bikes is my dads 1975 Honda 400/4 which is in storage (may get round to restoring it this year, may not but i hope so) he passed away 5 years ago so its got a lot of sentimental value. Id just like to add that im still paying for them!! Im half considering going 3rd party only - the zed and hyper both have trackers fitted (both ebay specials with a connection to my phone) based on whats been said its kinda leaning me that way...if it get knicked - i know where it is and ill take some mates with me to go and get it... If it goes down the road - ill repair it myself.... With regards to the prices of new bikes...yeah - i just wouldnt bother...15 to 20k for anything half decent...plus its littered in electronics so your almost bound to the 100 quid an hour mechanics at the local bike shop. Just for the record ....seen the new ducati v4 streetfighter....look at that fucking nose....blatant rip off of the gen 4! www.visordown.com/news/new-bikes/watch-ducati-streetfighter-v4-action

And if it's not mine,I don't take,I'm onist,as I am dull, but hay at least I'm worth something,as a person... U my friend don't have to explain ureself to anyone, you work hard for what u have got,and I wish u all the suckses in life u deserve my friend... Enjoy ure. toys..

Ha.... I'm glad u turned up... I had a go at the air filter, and the smog plates, after building myself up to it... I started it at 12,and finish it at 5... Done the air box no problem, smog plates.... Well let just saiy I had a go,and I know what it's gonna saiy, but I need a new rear tyre,so I'm saving... The bolt on the left plate, the one that's covered by a electronial plug. Let's just be onist and saiy I rounded it off and I couldn't undo it,so I put the long pip off the air unit and joined the 2 ports with it and zippy tied them together...used the plug that came with the plates, and the rubber plug that fits on the air box, will that be o.k.

Well i got my z1000 insured last week, it went down by £40 from the year before, but the brokers fees took it up and added the break down cover, so fully comp £230, but they sent me another guys quote by mistake, he ownd four bikes and it was £300 a year fully comp hiked up to £730, yeah! Insurance is one big rip off and there getting away with it, we need to start writing to our MP's and tell them to earn their money and look into the insurance con
