Sounds like a weird post doesnt it...?
Well, spent most of the day out on my rsv4 factory. Its modded quite a bit, full system, reflashed ecu. Ive had it for 8 years and still love the thing. Anyway we took a trip down to Loomies moto cafe and when we left picked up a z1000 in front and as soon as he copped me in his wind mirror cracked on. From what i could see totally stock. Now i hasten to say that i was quite easily staying with him in the corners and to be honest probably could have gotten past but, it would get quite dangerous then so i opted not to. But ( and heres the reason for the post) in a straight line from a rolling 30 mph start.....theyre fucking fast upto a ton +.... again i maybe could have gotten past but it would have become dangerous....in the end he started taking some pretty stupid decisions overtaking wise so i let him crack on. Better to get home to your loved ones in one piece.!
More of a message to anyone looking for one, go an test ride one for yourself. Imo theyve got it where it counts....my rsv4 is easy to get up to 150+ but how often does that happen....hardly ever...so if you buy a tuono for example lots of the speed is going to be lost up in that range where the every day ride doesnt take you....the zed has it best.
Bit of a strange post as i say but its a bit weird when you race ( well not race but have a spirited ride as it were ) against your own bike...!

the z has it where it counts on the road.. loads and loads of lovely low down torque.. a chassis that does handle and adequate brakes,.. power for the real world and a 0-60 of below 2.5.. hell i cant remember the last time i went over 130.. give me torque.. power wheelie torque any day of the week

Yep. Absolutely. I had a close friend ( a mechanic ) who had a headache on the monday, hospital wednesday ( thought he could walk it off ) and life support switched off on the friday....which has given me a bit more of a " it " attitude to life in a good way....

jeez that just reinforces my attitude we can shuttle off this mortal coil at any time regardless of age,.. just gotta live for the day, 5 weeks ago my riding buddy on his speed triple had a head on and virtually broke most of the bones in his bod, and a bleed on brain, will be surprised if he ever wals again with a stick at best..as his leg is for now 4 cm shorter than it was.. just reinforces you never know whats round corner so enjoy it why we can
