I was at work Friday and its a short day so get home for 4.00 instead of the normal 7.00pm finish, anyway rode bike home and everything ok, also the post man had delivered my new stainless radiator grill, £38 including postage from Germany, so eager to fit that on, after a cup of coffee i thought i would show off new grill cover to my mate, gets back on bike key in, pushes the stater, the clock display started up but that was it, two or three times tried to start her nothing, pushed the horn out comes a low bimp, and i thought its the battery sounds flat, so into shed and on charger for 4 hours, started her up around 9.00pm and she ran, but when i went to bed and got up for work next morning i noticed the clock was on 2.25 which i thought was odd as if the battery was flat around 4.45pm why was the clock on this time! i have tried a few times to rest the clock pushing the mode and then the reset to get it flashing, but nothing is happening! So has some electrical problem occured when she didn't start and knock the clock out? after i charged the battery i got the multi meter out and she was giving 14 volts when running and slowly dropping down when engine stopped, it has a datatool alarm fitted. Only doing short trips to work around 20 miles all in a day, is she getting enough miles to charge.

When was the battery last replaced.. Sounds like it's dead and unfortunately recharging them is only a short term fix

Sound like it's a dead battery, I had to buy a new battery every year for my gsxr due to not riding it during the winter month as the immobiliser flashing light would drain the battery but I now put it on a trickle charger once a month and it seems to do the trick.

Thanks guys keeping my eye on the battery and keeping a watch on a new battery, i have no idea how old it is, it could be the one that came with bike! the datatool alarm really pisses me off turn it off at the remote then rearms its self every 45 seconds, But anyone know why i can seem to rest the clock on the dash?

Have you tried an optimate to refresh the battery and, if youre going to get a new battery maybe a lightweight lipo jobbie? All the batteries in my 3 bikes are all still good but as soon as one goes ill be going for the new lightweight ones....

Well resett the clock, searched the web and going by other zed owners you click mode to bring uo the high mileage the hit resett, till it flashes, on my 06 bike you hit mode to bring up the clock then hit the reset for few seconds till it flashes and then change time, As for the battery seems to be find for now was thinking off getting a lipo but the price was bit of the top for my budget.
