Sorry guys if these questions have been asked before, but seraching the boards couldn't find what i was looking for, for the past eight years i have been ridingan ER5 and most of the layout is simple, turn key start bike up, turn lights on, ride away etc. before this i had a GPZ1000RX andagain the layoutwas the same, but as i have now got my hands on a Z1000 A6, its a different monster, Getting a bit lost at the monent, in time it will all come to me, the Haynes manuel gives me nothing, and the place i bought bike from run thought it that quick missed half of what he was saying!
So to start off when key is in and turned on, the head light and rear light are on all the time? i was looking for the switch to turn them off, as I'm sure i have see other Z1000 around my area with headlight off,
Still trying to get my head around the immobiliser!
There's bound to be more silly questions from me soon! keith

all biikes from around 2000/2005 come with headlight on all the time, something to do with the EU I believe.
immobilizer - there is a chip in the key, so it is not good enought being able to copy the physical key, the chip in the ignition has to match the signal from the chip in the key before the electronics will lets the bike fire. You should have a 'red' key which will allow you to get another key/chip made.
I used to have a GPZ1000RX A3 in blue, loved it.
