Hi folks,
apoligies in advance if this has been covered before.
I have a 2010 z1000, and recently I have been getting an error code 62. Its not all the time. sometimes you wont see anything. but I have noticed over the last few days it has been getting worse.
normally it will clear when you turn the bike off, take the keys out, but back in and turn on. But yesterday, after 5 attempts at doing that it wouldn't work.
when the code comes on, the bike idles at 2500-3000rpm,, apart from that seems to run ok,, although any time that has happened I haven't gone far,, just limped it back to my unit at 20mph,
any help with this would be great,, another point is I washed the bike the other week,, but had been using it constant for over a week until this happened as I read somewhere that washing it can sometimes allow water into the sensors.
I fitted v&h urban brawlers in may,, and it happened maybe twice after that until this weekend, where it seems to have gotten worse.
thanks in advance,,, cheers, Conal

service manual - "62" - Sub-throttle valve actuator malfunction, wiring open or short.

Id say lift the tank, go over all the wiring and plugs, clean with wd40 and reseat. Im pretty hopeless with fault finding wiring but the code gives a good pointer to the area youre looking for.... Have you got the service manual?
