My 2004 z1000 was running perfect all last year , I was out on it xmas eve , washed it and parked it in the garage .It was on the back paddock stand , stood for aprox three weeks and when I went back to it the bike started first turn of the key .It warmed up to about 50 degrees , cut out and when I tried to restart it the bike wouldn't start even though battery fully charged and engine was turning. I left the bike for a while and once it was cooled down it started again first time , kept it running with a bit of revs applied to over 50 degrees .Noticed the first exhaust pipe glowing red so turned bike off and it wouldn't start again , seems to be starting easily when cold but wont start or keep running when engine warm .Tried self diagnostics but its not flashing any faults .Anyone any ideas please

the 04 model has a manual choke, what position was this in?
unfortuntaly modern fuels have increasing levels of ethanol added, which settles and does not like condensation. It might be worth draining the whole tank and trying fresh fuel, or connect a another fuel supply if you have one. I would suggest you eliminate the fuel as an issue to start with.
keep us posted..

Wonder if an injector or two are buggered. Might be worth biting the bullet and take it to your local kaeasaki dealer who can plug the bike into their diagnostic computer
