Hi, Not having a Kawasaki before id like to ask is this familiar issue. Since the cold mornings have arrived my Z does not like changing gear, I have been told this is normal because the oil is thick by the dealer. Has anyone experienced this. Once warm the gears change ok ? Any thoughts please !!

Gear change can be clunky when cold, but I have never had an issue. If you are changing at very low revs it is never as smooth as 3,000 rpm +.
When was the oil changed last and what grade of oil is in the engine (if known)

Just had 600 mile service so changed then, unsure what oil though ! when cold it doesn't want to change up or down, and because I leave quite early im a bit reluctant to warm it up in the garage due to noise and neighbours etc..

At what revs are you changing gear? I have never had an issue no matter what the weather.

Hi, any revs, i ride in first until it allows a change ! Heat I guess. i tried starting the bike in first gear with the clutch in the other day, not ideal I know but she wanted to go even with that clutch in. I believe more miles may help !
