Hello all, Can anyone suggest a good model or tyre? I bought my Z 1000 recently so only done a couple of hundred miles although whoever had the 2009 bike before me has rode the hell out on the back wheel to a flat spot and has left my back wheel with ' I believe the industry term is ''Chicken Wings'' ' and I afraid there is no amount of riding on the edge a mere mortal such as myself can reclaim some of that un-used rubber. Image attached for laughs... A pal has suggested Michelin Power 2CT which have a 90/10% for Road street riding/trackday ratio...but if any of you hardened Z'ers have any better tried and tested boots I would appreciate some feedback Many thanks manman Attachments:

I have had both pilot power and road 2 in 2ct on my z1000, for fast road use you will not tell the difference except for the roads giving you more mileage... I now use the roads which I would recommend if you do not do regular track days.

Went for the Dunlop road smarts in the end
Time will tell....will keep all posted with how I get on with them

I am sure they will be very competent tyres, modern rubber is far better than we are anyway, speaking for myself for sure

:-/Just looked at my rear tyre and its almost through the wear bars so I'm not impressed with the original Dunlop D210s as it's only done 2100 miles and the front is low as well. Its just not acceptable! Think I'll try some Maxxis Supermax Diamonds which get good reviews and are considerably cheaper than Roadsmarts etc. Will report back eventually. ;D
