Did you do that on your Z1000 ? My brother in law works for Royal Mail in their vehicle workshop. With acouple of colleagues, the now have Suzuki GSXR 750 SRAD with K series race plastics, an older Gixxer 750 and a Kawa ZXR 750 for doing trackdays. The bikes were all cheap and they even made their own 2 bike trailer from parts they scavenged from work so racing on a shoestring. They do regular sessions at Knockhill. I've been to assist but not been on track yet....might do a session next year

Yes I did it in the z1000, only fear is if you crash,,.. silverstone is a very fast circuit and it is going to distroy the bike if you come off..

I have always thought that I wouldn't use my road bike for trackdays or pulling big wheelies. Personally I'd do the cheap sportsbike with race bodywork on route so if you do have an off...you don't trash your pride and joy. Used to own a Beamish Suzuki RL325 trials bike years ago....was the ultimate wheelie machine and I could wheelie it from 1st to forth. So again don't pull wheelies on the road bikes really.
I think the confidence aspect plays a lot into it...roadbikes for road, trackbikes for track and a dirt bike for offroad fun.
