can anyone help. i have a new shape Z1000 running on dunlop qualifiers and shes developed a strange problem and i wondered its a normal issue with these when used and abused daily.
any hard acceleration in any gear upto about 110 is perfect and steady but then if I'm rolling at 110ish and open her wide sometimes under hard acceleration she gets a weave through her, like a very gentle tank slapper abut at 120plus its not nice, its like a wave that runs smoothly down from the front through the head stock and on down through the frame and i have to back off, put weight over the tank to clam her down before winding her open again, past 130 and it seems to clear, it doesn't always happen and to be honest feels a little like the front has gone light and it bouncing off the bumps and that sets up the weave. i have the front forks set o the right settings for a heavy lad and the back is wound right down on the spring to set the static sag and the rebound damping is only 1 full turn out so i know the back isn't too soft making her squat and the front go light and these bikes as lovely as they are aren't the most powerful out there so i know its not because shes trying to pop wheelies under power at 110plus.
any ideas as to why the front feels light and shimmies as i power hard through 110 to 130.
1 extra bit of info is twice now i have notice my right side fork rebound damping adjuster has somehow wound out a full 1.5 turns compared to the left after i had set it, now I'm not sure if i have a very savey shitbag near by winding 1 out at night to try and kill me but the right 1 also feels like theres very little resistance and turning unlike the left which is tight as you would expect as you turn it out,
did kwak ever have an issue with their forks, could i have an issue with them with this fault, shes only 18 months old so within warranty. i do ride her hard and plan one day to upgrade front and rear shocks but for now and advice.
also what other front forks slot straight in, zx10r maybe....... or even a different make like a gixer1000
