I recently had my Z750S serviced. After another 300 or so miles the speedo just stopped.
I was on a long ride home after a camping weekend away. After about 50/60 miles it started to flicker back into life and initially swing around wildly before working normally again.
When I stopped for fuel the problem started again but once more it seemed to settle down after a few more miles.
This weekend I have been out again and found the same problem. Does anyone have any idea whether this is going to be an easy one to fox or an expensive job ?
I’ll be calling the mechanic who carried out the service to see what he thinks but I’d welcome any comments from here.
Thanks, Lainy

Hi Lainy,
This is a tough one unless you have the tools to check the speed sensor electric source voltage and speed sensor.
as you state the fault is intermittent, so you need to follow the wiring from the sensor to the speedo... you may be lucky and find your mechanic dislodged a connector when he serviced you bike.
At worst you may need a new sensor or speedo, but I suggest you get the dealer to look at it as they with have the tools (hopefully) to locate the problem.
I have an the service manual for the z1000 which tells you have to do some of the checks, I will be happy to send you and electronic copy if this is any use to you. Or maybe do an internet search on the z750 and you may find it free to download.
Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for your reply. I have a service manual for the Z750 on CD. I am going to call my mechanic who did the service first to see what he thins. I am about as mechanical as a goldfish !!
I'll post an update when I have one.
