Just wanted to give the thumbs up to ventura for very good (if a tad expensive) but very secure, and easy luggage on the Zed. Toured all over france last year with all the luggage (the other half had the new speed trip which couldn't carry anything - too new for most manufacturers to have done their stuff at the time) Easy to put on and take off, no messing with cargo nets etc and didn't shift at all or make any difference to the handling all the way through the pyrenees and the alps! Check it out (but only if you intend to keep the Zed as the brackets are bike specific)

Couldn't help replying here myself too, as I've had a Ventura bike-pack (as they call 'em) for a few years now and it's been brilliant. Once you've bought the bag (or bags as they do a pair that zip together back-to-back to make give huge carrying capacity) you just need to change the "L" brackets and possibly the rear rack (if the width is different for your next bike), and you'll be able to sell and maybe buy those on eBay so not too steep.
Really secure, easy to carry (shoulder straps) when off the bike, and takes 5 seconds to clip on and clip off.
Being at the back of the bike its not in the best place to keep heavy gear in terms of handling, so I put heavy stuff (cameras, shoes, 5litre factor 500 sun cream, etc, etc) in a magnetic tank bag and the lighter but squashy bulky stuff (tee-shirts, shorts, claarts, waterproofs, 50ml factor 500 tube of suncream, etc) in the Ventura pack.
Done some pretty long distance touring abroad with this set-up and I reckon it's second only to full hard luggage, which let's face it would look ridiculous on the Z, and costs a bomb.
This set-up also doesn't increase your width (unless you eat the 5litres of suncream).
Simple idea but I've been impressed.
Then again I am easily impressed.
Cheers,
Fletch

Ive been looking at the Ventura stuff myself, aswell as the baglux gear.
It seems to be very practical, Ive got the renntec rack currently which has increased the luggage capacity nicely too.
