Hey Z Heads- Who have changed sprockets configurations & what has been the result? I put on a Renthal titanium rear with on extra tooth @ 43. The difference in performance is like having a new bike- WAY more responsive in the bottom; that dead spot below 5000 rpm has gone; the bike is so much more responsive without being a wheelie madman. I ride in traffic & open roads to work & back & this mod has def. increased the performance of the bike. forget the techicalities of it; I used to get around 100 miles til the annoying last bar starts flashing- now I get around 106. So , less than 6% increase in recorded miles on the clock & mph reading accuracy (am I right eagheads?).

I'm all for better lift off than top end anyway. But I wud want to know what the diff is accurately in the speedo readings given the way bikes get nailed for speedin, especially in built up areas etc.
Anyone know what combinations work best and what difference these combos make to acceleration and top end etc? Also what the % accuracy is against original set ups.
Never looked at this area................yet

i might be able to help you with that soon steve i've tried all sorts of sprocket combo's and i've just ordered a speedo healer so when i get it calibrated i'll let you know the changes.
as for the sprockets firstly i went 1 tooth down on the front and 2 up on the rear (f**ckin hang on for grim death) but it's revvin it's knackers of all the time. then i just went 2 up on the rear and put the front back to standard - this felt slow compared to the first one. now i've just gone 1 down on the front and i think it's a good compromise it's got a hell of a lot more lift compared to standard (you have to be careful not to wheelie) but it aint revvin out too early) i do occasionally go 2 teeth up on the rear as well but thats only if i'm of out for a quickie and not away touring!

I've went up 2 on the rear. Pissing with rain today, but had a quick blast and it feels awesome. Clutches up really easy in 2nd. Front's lifting off easily off crests in 3rd that never bothered it before. Doesn't feel like it's revving it's tits off on the motorway either, best of both worlds!! Feels like the bike's gained about 20bhp!!! I'll post up more once i give it a good run in the dry.
1st impressions though are.... fantastic mod. I remember last year giving it some beans down a straight on a local (private) back road and the speedo was at about 145 on the redline in 5th, so it still had a gear to go. I was thinking back then, there's no way i need a bike geared for that speed. Cant believe i'd not done this sooner.

I wonder how much more fuel we use with those changes as the bike for teh same speed revs higher....
