HI, I dont know much about PCIII and the mods that go with it. I noticed that most of you when having a PCIII, also have mod air box + filter. what does the PCIII do? it sets up the injection for max smoothness and power, that right? I have after market cans (baffles in) and the fueling is a bit crap as a consequence. the filter i guess it is easy you just buy a K&N and replace the old one with it.. or do you need a modified airbox for that? is all this really worth it? how much is the whole transformation?

Froggy,
Yup PCIII is for fuelling corrections, to smooth the power and hopefully maximise any gains offered by an aftermarket exhaust (better breathing out) and a aftermarket air filter (better brething in). The K&N will help to increase airflow into the engine, you can do this mod alone or with the airbox mod, or you can do the airbox mod on its own. Everything will make a difference. I would say airbox mod alone = small difference filter alone = slightly bigger difference 'box & filter = better again 'box filter & zaust = biggest gain and needs a PCIII to get the best out of it.
Basically, 'av a go and see what you think! Cheers

Thanks Jezz air box + filter + PCIII (+ dyno as i think you have to pay for set up?) must come to £500? is the power commander sitting in the bike? is it big cause there is no space whatsoerver on The zk7 ABS.... what should the HP gain be? 10;15? for the airbox, do you buy one or do you just open it by cutting the top? I have been told K&N filters need cleaning very often, is that true?

Dude I have just done all that to mine and running after market exhausts without baffles! making 135bhp with a pc111.
Bike was running very rich with airbox mod, K&n and cans.
If you want advice locally on getting it set up. google Tim Blakemore Racing he's in Kingswood, just up road from you! He did mine last week and is very knowledgable about the subject as he builds drag Bikes

I have a full Arata Ti 4 - 1 System on my 03, and havent changed the filter or modded the airbox but by just putting the pc111 on did make a huge difference mate! and besides its another thingy mijiggy that you can play around with on the pooter and download different maps etc.

jpz, how do you get a custom map? I checked on the Power Commander website, there are only 4 maps available, and none of them will mirror my setup, (Mivv Suono, K&N, PCIII). I'm a little miffed, as when I phoned up my supplier to buy the product, I left the conversation 670 notes lighter and the impression that the maps were available. So, I called back and was informed to use the Akrapovic setup , (but again, that's only with a stock air filter). So, I now believe that I'll have to pay for a Dynojet session to get my maps made up Not particularly impressed now

s'typical mate.
Anyway every bike is different so even with a stock map for a particular set-up it may not be the best for your individual bike. Its always best to get a dyno session to make sure its spot on.
Well worth £40-60 and you get to know how much power you got to play with! Always a bonus in the pub discssions!
Cheers Jezz

Cheers Jezz That I could live with, except I've been quoted £150+VAT for a Dyno session by my 'local' Dyno shop

Shop around mate!
You'll get loads of quotes and if you find a decent one a bit of a distance you'll have plenty of miles to notice the difference before & after!
