Just thought Id let you know that the zx10r rear shock spring is approximately 6mm shorter in length than the z1000 stock spring. Its also softer than the z1000 spring (might be something to do with the 20 kilo weight gain the z has over the zx?)
I know cos Ive just removed my z spring and my zx10 spring and compared them. My z spring is now fitted to the zx10 shock unit and the 10 mm sag height I lost with the standard zx10 shock is now gone with the z spring fitted. I also had 18mm of thread showing on the zx10 shock with its stock spring. With the z spring fitted to the zx shock I now have only 8mm (ish) thread showing.

Just got K-Tech to swap springs for me(no charge!) and now have loads more pre-load to play with. While I was at it, I compared the ZX10R Linkage to the Z1000, and found that they are different. The holes are spaced differently, so it will be interesting to see the difference from the complete ZX10R Shock and linkage to the new set up(ZX10R Shock, Z1000 Spring, ZX10R Dogbones, and Z1000 Linkage). I'll let you know. Ta, Hamish
