Well finally did mine today. Been meaning to do it for a while easy enough job, slackened off the calipers/axle and yoke pinch bolts, got the girl up on the abba stand and then used a jack and a piece of wood to raise the front. Dismantled the front cowl assembly and went to loosen the top pinch bolts on the top yoke to find I didnt need to.....already loose Dropped the wheel out, clamped the calipers out the way and then had the fun of undoing the top of the forks....glad I did it with them still in the bike, very tight and my 32mm socket only just fitted on(yes I skinned a knuckle Anyway, took the forks out and drained them off........worryingly the oil looked quite good(53 plate, 17.5k) and not the usual black sludge, however there wasnt that much of it IMO:-/. Still in went the fresh stuff, all put back together and get to ride it tomorrow to see if it feels better, ill let you know

Where did you put the block of wood ? Mines a 750 and the 4into1 system is well and truly in the way.

The 1k splits into two so the wood was put at the front edge of the sump area. Being a 4-1 on the 750 there may be some sort of flat/plated area if its like my old ZX9, I used to use that as the jacking point all the time with no problems.
Front end feels better, 2 lines of preload showing and about 2/3rds of a turn from max on the rebound is what ive got dialled in now and a run out....handles well enough to get me knee down anyhow in the dry break we had today lol
New chain and sprockets were fitted today. Front old one was hooked(17.5k tho), back was worn and the chain was alright...ish lol. The loobman chain oiler seems to have done its job especially over winter as there were no stiff links
