I just dropped my bike off at a Dynojet centre... I trailered the bike as it was pouring with rain.. anyhow the bloke rang we with some bad news.. my rear has a pallet staple in the tyre!! I have just put a set of Michelin Pilot Powers on 200 miles ago ... I reckon it picked up the staple in the yard as I dropped it off.... The guy said he would fix it for £15 under the circustances.... Apparently Michelin approve the repair but if it was a Dunlop they would not. The point of this thread is has anyone else has a mushroom repair to any of their tyres at some point?. Should i be worried!?? I guess if Michelin approve the repair then it should be OK. (it is a Spanish Pilot Power, so it does not come under the recent recall unfortunately in this case)

had various tyres repaired over the years, a lot depends on the shop you take it to and where the puncture is/how old the tyre is. The shop I used to use repaired dunlops and bridgestones for me with no problems

I was a tyre fitter and have mended many bike tyres, the mushroom plugs and glue were exellent then (25 years ago) and have only improved over time, providing the repair was done by a competent person i would not worry, so long as the repair is in the center section of the tyre and not on or real close to the side wall i would be confident in using the bike as normal, hope this helps, Doggie.
