Ive just fitted my zx10r shock. I measured the height of the bike before and after (no-one sat on it) and its now 10mm lower.
On my z shock I had 10mm of thread showing - on the zx10 I have 18mm.
The zx10 is 20kilos lighter than the z so im guessing its a lighter spring.
Has anyone else had this and did they fit the z spring onto the zx10 shock to sort it out?
Havent ridden the bike yet but I know if the rear is lowered it may stiffen up the front going into corners which isnt what I want.
It only took 10 mins to fit so to take it off and nip to my dealer for them to swap the springs isnt a problem.
Any advice appreciated

Is it worth fitting a Jack up kit?

YES.....................makes the bike turn in better. I put my z1000 spring on the zx10r shock and my ride height was returned back. The spring on the zx10r is softer so with the z's extra weight there was a loss of 10mm.

The jack up kit will give that 10mm + some back to the Z
