I seen a few videos on you tube of z1000s with standard cans cut 5" shorter. They seem to sound really good. Is this a good mod or does it affect the running of the bike?

Chugga,
I removed about 6" from my oem pipes, Took em right back to the bracket on the inside of pipes, they looked great, sounded freakin loud (made yer ears bleed after 5mins of riding but did make the response a bit fluffy.
