Just thought I'd share a very easy way to remove those very stubborn and damn difficult to undo bar end bolts.
The ones that are in from stock are cross head 8mm bolts with red loctite on the threads!!
Easiest way is to drill a pilot hole (3,4 or 5mm will be fine) to a depth of about 12mm or so. Then drill a 9mm hole and you will find the head of the bolt will just drop off.
Then with a good pair of pliers or better still mole grips clamp the protruding bolt that is sticking out of the handlebar and turn. Keep a good grip until you have it turning and bingo they are out.
Took me all of 10 mins to remove both sides.
NO NEED FOR IMPACT DRIVERS OR BIG HAMMERS!!!!
Hope this helps someone

Took me a lot less than that with an impact driver and a big hammer.
