A couple of times after I have adjusted my chain and rode the bike for maybe 50 miles or so I have felt vibration through the footrests. On checking the chain it has been bow tight though the adjusters haven't moved.
There are no tight spots on the chain and it is regularly cleaned and lubed. I always adjust it according to Kwacks' recommendations ie bike on sidestand and about 25 mm of movement.
The only explanation I can think of is that I maybe haven't tightened the axle enough and the wheel is slipping backwards although on each occasion the nuts have been tight against the back of the swinging arm.
Has anyone else noticed this or know of an explanation?

Ihave had that aswell though not with the Zed, I remember reading a post (I think on the US forum), as you tighten the rear axel, the swing arm flexs slightly, making the chain tighter at the same time. Appart from that I aint sure I am affraid.

Thanks Spoon. I've heard of the chain tightening up when you torque up the axle nut but I always check for that. I'll check the US forum. In the good old days of centrestands it used to be you could spin the wheel and hit the back brake to centre everything before you did any tightening.
