hi does anyone know if the zx10r forks fit OK ? it looks like most of the part numbers are the same as the 636 c1 .its just that the 10 s forks seam more readily available than the 6 ?

The 10 uses 43mm forks and the 6 uses 41mm forks so you would have to use the 10 yokes or bore the Z yokes.

Hi Deecat
I would guess that C1 forks are better than B1. (Japs only generally move forwards evolution wise)
C1 forks have the internals are higher spec from the ZX6RR 2004 model to improve the low speed ripple problem everyone moaned about on the B1H when tested by magazines. (the above could be cobblers as it's Mag talk)
C1 forks do not require 10mm caliper spacers to fit on the Z1000.
C1 forks require a ZX6 C1 or ZX10 front mudguard.
I know a guy that looked into ZX10 forks but6 machining the Z1000 yokes is dodgy as they only have 3mm of material to start with (6mm total) and 2mm will have to be removed.
As a Note on safety:
Every ZX6 C1 fork swap i have seen apart from mine has a B1 wheel spindle which is too short to engage more than 4 threads. 2 i looked at still had a Z1000 spindle and wrong size spacers.
Buy the correct spindle if you wish to survive C1 spindle is 12mm longer than a B1 Spindle at the threaded end so it goes further into the Nut.
Regards Rick

Does anybody know if the steering stem is the same or would have to be swapped?
Can anyone advise on the length of the ZX10 forks?
