Hi guys, just thoght I would share, tried removing the bar ends yesterday to put on my R&G ends and Rizoma mirrors. After a bit of reading on the z1000.net forum, decided to follow their advice and use a heat and impact driver, but good god how f**king hard are they to get off, took me about an hour and half to get them off!!!!!
Right one was the most awkward, even heating up the bar end to almost silly temps, I completely stripped the screw driver slot on the bolt with the impact driver, I had to cut a new slot on the bolt(knackering the bar end in the process, well cosmetically any way)and used a hammer and screwdriver (chissel fashion) to get the sodding thing out. The left one was a little easier but still took plenty of heat to melt the thread lock(so much I could nt even touch the bar end even with a cloth) and it serriously chewed the cross slot up as well.
So needless to say I aint going to be reusing those bolts, so have ordered some nice Titanium ones from pro bolt, should have them in a couple of days, so I can finnish the job. Once I have got em I will post pics of the finnished articles.
One small mercy is that I managed to fit my new gold CRG shorty levers, hhhhmmmmmm theyre luuuuurrvely.
