Well only had the bike some six months now and replaced the brake pads all round, fitted a tail tidy, radiator cover, renewed any rusty bolt or screws, LED flasher and some nice carbon fibre panels, over the last weekend went about changing the clutch as no play on lever, so ordered a kit on offer for £70, stripped out mine and found the new ones were not for a ZED as the label said, springs far too short not enough plates etc, so had to put the older one back in, and send the useless one back, now i found the right hand fork has oil on it, shit i thought, bloody seals have gone, off to my local kwacker dealer to order some new ones, £43 lighter in pocket, i ordered two seals per fork as looking at the parts drawing they have a top and bottom seal, so thought it safe to order the two,[ four in all] but i won't be able to do this job myself so will have to go in to my mates shop, so could be looking at £120, But the real pain thats getting to me is my old ER5 which got nicked three weeks ago always had a problem with the fork seals leaking, infact i spent £22 on new ones before the bike went, might sell these on ebay now, but she always went though seals every 18 months, and always made sure i didn'nt hit pot holes etc.

Well the seals have been replaced, took it in to my local shop and they fitted the new ones, which i provided, cost me £100 labour and £43 for the seals, and she handles better as well so theres the plus side of it, and took the plunge and ordered some EBC wavy discs cost me £230 for pair, as i was told during the MOT last August my right hand disc had a small warp, so hope the new wavy's will cure that and look cooler, and bought another pair of brake pads to go with wavy's, I seem to be spending more money on the bike that me, ha! well who needs food anyway it just makes you fat! All i need now is this crappy weather to go away so i can work on the bike.

Hi Keef - just seen this....i had a blown seal on my hypermotard and used one of those "seal buddies" to go round the seal in place, in the fork and it did work! ironically i bought the seal first expecting to do the job but someone on the duc forum suggested it and for a fiver i thought what the hell...and, as i say, it worked...ive got no problem replacing seals in forks (but i could do with not having to do it in the first place and i didnt!)
