Hello from across the pond here in NYC. I was wondering if anyone could help me pin-point why at high rpm the bike runs fine but when sitting at idle it almost sounds like it is running on 3 cylinders. I have been told the spark plug is not arching evenly but instead the spark is jumping around? Believe this is an expensive electrical repair but cannot afford the labor involved hence my cry for help to get the old orange back on the road this spring. Kindest Regards

have you tried changing the spark plugs for new, or at least changing the troubled spark plug with another cylinder..... at least to rule out if it is the plug. always start with the easiest test and to illiminate that.

Hello:
Thank you maxz1000 but won't be able to try new plugs until this spring. Will be happy to report back as soon as I can.

My apologies for the delayed response but it seems a change of the plugs along with some fuel conditioner has done the trick!
