Thanks guys... A few pictures to temp you to do a similar trip.... Northern spain is Z1000 territory as plenty of bends with the opportunity to open the bike up a well. Best is to take the ferry from Portsmouth or Plymouth to Santander thus avoid the boring ride through France and squaring off your rear tyre. Normal mileage is about 1,500 miles in Spain, with a full 7 day duration including the 24 hour ferry transit time. Cost of ferry, fuel, insurance, hotels, beer / food etc works out at about £ 1,300. Might sound a lot but you will have a bike holiday to remember. I went on a bmw as it is best for my wife, however I did the trip one year on the z1000 with my wife... Booze cheap, apart from the wine... Once had 6 beers and a lage bottle do water for € 8.00. Bargain. Very early morning and high in the mountains No cars in sight Beers at 8 PM and 26C Z1 last year in Spain ( wife not with me for this trip)
