Hi I've put a similar post up before but has anybody got any ideas on this. When coasting with the clutch my bike keeps cutting out, this can happen in any gear at any speed, when the bike is cold and when the bike is warm. When i re-start the bike I have to give it some throttle as the idle speed is very low and it struggles to start. Could it be the idle speed??, at the moment it runs at the first bar passed 1 thousand. Any help would be appreciated as this is really annoying me as the bike always out when you least need it to, ie when filtering.

It used to do it about 10000 miles ago then stopped but after the 15000 mile service its back and this time is alot worst, on my commuter home tonight after about half hour riding pulling on to my it drive goes again, all in all it must of done it about 5 just in that ride.

Rich i might be off the mark but your sidestand switch and clutch are connected are they not?
The side stand has a sensor so as you can't start the bike when its down and in gear - the clutch so as you can't start the bike without clutching when its in gear? They both work on the same principle so this might be a problem - one of these switches?
Also theoretically when you clutch there's less load on your engine so that would suggest that its not your idling speed and although adjusting this up slightly might be better i don't think thats the problem
Doubtful to be loose ignition wiring as it only happens when you clutch
Bit tricky, definately think its electrical and unless you know what your doing its going have to go in somewhere

I'd be thinking air filter / injector balance, wont hurt to WD all those connecter's, should really do it every couple of washes anyway if only to keep corrosion at bay. but the need throttle and struggles to start thing, suggests fuel not electrics. Try takin a quick run with air-filter out to see if different, they are very small for engine size, so should get dirty pretty quick. Hope helpful ;D

If it has happened immediately after a service, it might be worth checking that the stick coils are seated properly, the wiring plugs to the stick coils are secure, the stick coil sub harness between plugs 3 and 4 is secure, the wiring to the cam shaft posistion sensor between coils 1 and 2.
To get no.3 stick coil out, the thermostat/filler tank has to be unbolted and moved slightly, there is a couple of earth wires attached to the thermostat housing and the bolt that holds the housing in place, check they are there and tight, around the thermostat housing is about 5 electrical connector blocks, i think the big white multi block is from the ignition switch, check they are tight and secure as they need undoing and moving to get no.3 coil/plug out.
I think i would also check that the wiring and plug to the fuel pump is ok aswell, the plug is under the frame cover on the O/S just behind the air box.
Also check that that the pipes to the air suction valve, air suction switch, throttle bodies and air box are on and not damaged.
