Hello all!
Just got back from a mini eurotrip for my birthday, where we stayed in Luxembourg for 4 nights of the 5 due to the roads! OH MY GOD!!!!
They are THE best I have ever ridden on!!
We stayed at www.hotel-de-la-sure.lu in a little place called Esch-sur-sure. (It even has a Mc Ronalds - Yes!! Mc Ronalds!!)
Biker friendly hotel (See their garage in pic below!), some English speaking staff (helpful, as there was French, Luxemborgish (Which I thought was made up!), Danish and German flying about!!), it seemed to be in the middle of everywhere (Spa, Chimey, Nurburgring, etc all within 1-1.5 hour ride on twisties) and the best bit of all....Twisty, smooth, mountain stylee roads in every direction!!! No missing tarmac, no raked surfaces on a sweeping bend...
We spent 4 days just riding out with no destination in mind, setting off at about 9/10am and returning 5/6pm! The most ridiing I have EVER done in one week!
Weather was TOO hot if anything, but when moving was fine!
I didn't see a single british car/bike the whole time, and no idea why?!!
We got the ferry from Dover to Dunkerque, and it's about 3/4 hours from there if you're partial to motorways.
EVERYTHING was better than France, Belgium, Germany:-
Roads amazing, fuel approx. 98p per litre (Cross over to germany and £1.20! Lol), beer was cheap and lovely, fags are cheap (I don't even smoke but noticed lol) and I'm def going again!! Didn't get many pics of roads but what I did are below!
Jon
Ps. Did a couple of laps round the Nurburgring too, not cheap, now 21 euros a lap, but WOW!!!!! AMAZING!! ;D
It really got me into my bike!! My riding's better (Didn't think it could be - lol), I had a few slips and slides, with no nastiness, so I know it's limits, and I pissed all over some much quicker stuff (And got overtaken but some much slower locals LOL). Loving it!!
PPs. Sorry if I waffled, still buzzing!!
The garage at the hotel, bikes only, 10 cars worth of space!! We parked in the "Little back room" as it's cooler!
