I've just fitted an acumen plug 'n' play digital gear indicator. Set it up as instructed. Set off, bit slow to react but all 6 gears show up. Select neutral, and I show 1 bar on the petrol gauge, and 'Fuel' flashes. Select 1st and ride away and 4 bars of fuel return on the dash. Have a ride out and actually use all the petrol, so the 'Fuel' flashes again while I'm riding along, gear indicator shows 4, and my neutral light on the dash lights up? ? Anyone had this?

Not had any of those kind of problems. I am a bit disappointed with the thing really as it is a bit slow to react especially in lower gears. Sorry I can't help more. Hamish

I've just fitted an acumen plug 'n' play digital gear indicator. Set it up as instructed. Did you wire it in using the universal wiring harness or did you use the bike specific harness already made up?, i used the Z1000 bike specific harness and it installed and setup perfectly with no other issues regarding warning lights or fuel gauge problems, if you used the universal harness, then i would suggest re-checking you have wired it in properly. I am a bit disappointed with the thing really as it is a bit slow to react especially in lower gears. I have found it takes about 1-2 secs to display the correct gear when changing up/down, by the time you have changed gear and released the clutch lever, then looked down it has either changed the gear displayed or changing the display. ditto Hamish, mine, when stopped, just whirrs around trying to decide if i'm actually in 1st (THE most important info needed for me 'specially at lights) and when changing down quick ....hopeless It works very well changing up the gearbox and changing down one gear at a time and releasing the clutch lever, if you are coming to a stop and change down several gears to first ready to pull away again and DO NOT release the clutch lever, then it gets confused and will either display the gear you were last in or the digits will spin around. You know you are in first because you just clicked the gear lever down to first and it will not click down anymore, as soon as you move off and change up into second, the display will carry on functioning properly again, The instructions that i read do say that if you do not release the clutch lever after a gear change or your clutch is slipping then it will not display acurately.

Returned the loom to acumen, and they re-worked it. It now works correctly, must have been a short in one of the connector blocks. 2 day turn around, the guy there was super helpful, even emailed me on a sunday.

Glad you got it sorted, yes you are dead right about the Acumen support people, i phoned up wanting some advice about their Cat 3.1 alarm, they were really helpful with all the questions i asked and the guy actually sounded like he enjoyed his job!.
