Ive just got some mini indicators that are bulb not LED. When I turn them ton hey flash too quickly. (as if a bulb is out)
I know that when this happens with LED's you change the flash relay, trouble is I cant find it.
Can anyone tell me where thye relay is is or is it something else causing the indicators too flash too quickly?
Thanks Biker

The wifes/my Vmax is like that. Starts off ok then goes stupid flashing really quick, then slows down again? passes its mot ok though. Its probably to do with the wattage of the bulb being too low ? You could try ballast resistors, like the ones you fit when you put LED indis on, might help?

Thanks, I think Ive sorted it though.................the bulbs currently in the indicators are 12v 6w and the original bulbs were 12v 21w. Ive ordered some mini bulbs that are 12v 23w so Ill wait and see if they sort it as technically the 12v 23w bulb should load the flasher relay correctly making them flash at the right speed.

The relay (if you need to change it) is at the r/h side and under your tail piece, take off the seat, undo the push pin fasteners(underneath), undo the 2 screws at the back of tail piece, pull the tail piece outwards from just by the side panels to disengage the lugs then slide tail unit backwards, you will see 2 or 3 blocks (matchbox size and black in colour) attached to the r/h sub frame, just follow the cables form indis and thats the one you need to change.

I'll just add my agreement to this too.
It sounds like the indicators arent drawing enough power, as it is that that controls the flash rate with the current set-up.
If that doesnt work, a relay designed to work with LED's will work, they cost about £20 and fit in place of the original, they are controlled by time instead of current so will give the correct flash rate....and yes they are under the rear panels.

The Bulbs will / should do the trick, oh yes.
