Had this set up on my bike by a mate...bike seems to run pretty well, but we didn't dyno. Just wondering if I should get it sorted by a proper place rather than a hit and miss approach to the mapping.
Has anyone set up their own power commander? any problems etc?
Is it essential to go the professional route?

Hi nzt my first tip is make sure you use contact grease or vaseline on the connectors. My PC3 failed 3 days out of warranty due to water in the connector. They didn't want to know at all. Get it set up by a rolling road that know what they are doing with PC3's. Don't go by their BS adverts though as not many have a clue. PDQ set mine up and it gave 133 HP @ rear wheel with full Micron 4-2-1 race system & airbox mod with K&N filter. without the PC3 it was 127 hp @ Rear Wheel. My Mate got 136 hp with same mods but Full Akropovic system. 6 bhp extra from a decent setup. Don't fiddle with the PC3 until you get pipes or a full system. just leave it on the default map. Hope this helps. your info does not tell me where you are in the country so can't think of specific dyno to use. Regards Rick

Hi NZT just bought a second hand Techlusion TFI box off Ebay. (£65) ;D I didn't use the line taps (scotchlocks) i soldered an extension onto the injector wiring so that i can simply unplug the box & keep it for my next bike (fits any 4 cyl EFI bike) Fitted in about an hour and it feels great. Got rid of the hole at 5000 rpm and feels really crisp. Been suffering a lot of popping on the overrun since my PC3 died. I'm now very happy as i can tune this box without a laptop. I will visit some rollers soon and see if i'm still getting the same power as i did with the PC3. Regards Rick
