Looking for any advice or recommendations on a new screen for my Zed. Has anybody tried the Vario, and does it work? Would I be better off with a double bubble or just a higher screen? ;D

You have a few options billy. Ive gone for the zero gravity screen double bubble screen and it does work to a limited extent...and hey it looks nice My screen works aswell as can be expected for a screen on a naked motorbike and does add some extra protection. Let me know if you'd like to see it and we can arrange to meet-up. I looked at the kawasaki vario screen but was unsure as to how effective the extra plastic flap would be, and it was over priced and looked ugly too. Theres also various screens by ermax, puig etc. Theres a beefy looking one from Magic Racing i believe they are called

Hi I ordered a laminar screen over the net, I couldnt find anywhere in the uk but if you order it off the website it comes from the states in about 3 weeks. Works very well compared with the standard and doesnt take too much away from the origianal looks of the bike esp in black. www.laminarlip.com/speed3.htmRegards Stumpy

I've got a Vario screen on my Z1000, they work to an extent and if you get right down you can get out of the wind. I did a 2500 mile trip round Denmark last summer with the screens help. I don't know if they are any better than the larger "fixed" screens that are available, they are also not that cheap, I think it cost around £80.00

I defo want to get some sort of screen this year. I dont want full protection just something to take the edge off. I originaly wanted a vario. Havent seen one in the flesh but pics i have seen i think they look close to the original. (maybe i just have crap taste). Since then i have seen this and am trying to get in contact with them for price and if they will ship etc. www.roadracing.it/CAT04_ING/articolo.asp?id_art=271I have a feeling it will be out of my budget and so ill order a vario any time soon!

I did 400 miles in 2 days recently to a track day and back. Rode from Oxford to Oulton, then a track day ine one day, then the return ride the next day in very strong winds and following that, I felt like I'd done 10 rounds with Tyson and so I've given in and ordered one of these... www.barracudamoto.it/DettaglioProdotto.aspx?IDP=302&CAT=11I got an email saying that they've got supply problems and I probably won't get it till then end of April. I'll let you know how it works....

Put a genuine E1 screen on my Z750, works a treat, not too keen on a lot of the other makes of screen as a lot of them look more like a shovel and tend to spoil the look of the bike, at the risk of upsetting people the Z750/1000 is designed as a streetfighter so why try and turn it into something else, personally if I'd wanted a tourer I'd have gotten the S or a VFR800, not knocking others just my personal opinion!

I must agree with Blueninja1 on this one, i fitted a 75mm higher screen from Kawasaki on my Z1000, it gives a little bit more protection but still keeps the bad ass looks of what the zed is meant to be ;D

Zedkid, i worked the conversion out to be around 64 quid for that baracuda....does that sound about right?
Im up in the air about which screen to get. I was gonna get a vario but no i had a good look at the baracuda and i like that too. Its real hard to imagine from a picture what it would be like on 'your' bike.
Ahhhhh decisions decisions!

Hi Zedaintdead I have the Vario screen. I would recommend it for riders Under 6 foot. If you are over 6ft go for the Laminar one or the Ermax touring screen. I'm 6'2" and the Vario is only usefull if i crouch a little say an inch or so. I also have the Kawasaki + 75mm screen which to be hones feels almost identical to the Vario on minimum. Regards Rick

I agree with peoples comments about the zed not being a VFR. What I want is something that I can put on for when I need it and still looks okay - I think the barracuda fits this description....
I'll let you know what I think when it arrives and will post some pictures..

I've just picked up the +70mm screen for my Z and when I went to fit it I've found that it's identical to the one that's already fitted to my bike Could anyone do me a favour and tell me what size their screen is from top to bottom. I'm trying to work out if the new screen I've bought has been packaged wrong, or if my bike had the +70mm screen already fitted when I bought it!!

No it hasn't.... bugger....
I got an email from them a couple of weeks ago to say it was posted, but haven't seen it yet.... I emailed them back today and asked them where it was - maybe they can track the delivery somehow....
