Thought I seen a post about this somewhere but couldn't find it.
So after a few sketchy moments I thinking about getting one. Never had one before so no idea? All thoughts welcome good or bad π

Never needed one myself...ive always felt that if youve got it "on" and then slow down to make a sharp turn (for whatever reason) and its on, you wont be able to turn fast enough and your off..so you have to keep remembering to switch it off....and, what setting should you use...if youve got it set to light and you get a sharp one it may not be set high enough....they seem a bit pointless - but thats just me....

Used to have one on my 07 z1000. Want one one my gen4 tho, cause the steering tends to get a bit light aand wobbly. It was a linear damper by hyperpro (hyperpro fanboyππ), never actually had to intervein on a potential tankslapper. But even in a slow turn you will never move your handlebars that fast or irradically, to turn. So when making a turn it should never hold you back But you do need to set it up properly, so i had it done by authorised dealer/shop. He even took his time to explain me and show me. Got to turn your damper all the way down. Lift your front wheel off the ground. Keep moving your handlebars from left to right and keep turning up the damper a click untill you feel slight resistance. Turn it back one click and your set.

It's on my hit list on the Zh2, main reason being it easily lifts the front end up even on 3rd gear and the front tends to flap a bit so a damper would cure that ..

I've thought about getting one, never had 1 but the front can get a bit light and a slight wobble when gunning it. But for a decent 1 you are talking good money,so I sometimes wonder if ive gone this far without,do I really need 1..... Hhhhmmm!!! May just put the money towards a full race quick shifter,up and down blipper, and a pit lane limiter I can set at 30 so I can press it in a built up area so I don't get caught out,as I'm a bit throttle happy-go-lucky,may keep me out of trouble.... Maybe something like this, let me know what u think.

steering dampers are just an ornament until that 1 time in a thousand that you hit a wheelie or a bump in the road when you are powering it at a ton pluss and it starts a tank slapper and u absolutly crap yourself... i been there..

I'd rather have have a damper than a launch control or QS. Both useless on regular road use, in my opinion
