Get it mapped and you can loose the flapper valve motor... I know you've got a good battery but a lithium one is a big saving... None on the R model. So that's one job not to do!

Do you still have the stock rear passenger hangers on yours?

Kawasaki lists the Z1000 at 221kgs wet,so I suppose anything less than that is a win. A current ZX10R comes in at 203kgs and it would be cool to get down there,but dropping 18kgs (40LBS) may be a little optimistic! A good 12kg's is the oem headers and tailpipes.... Another 8 shouldn't be that hard... Reckon mines under 200...

You're right Comfy,I weighed the stock headers at about 7.4kgs and the two cans around 8kgs.
Have you weighed your bike yet?

As u can see this was the original eBay listing they were listed for £470 but I had an eBay discount of £50 so I jumped at them... Plus they don't need the rear hangers so. Win,win...

No lost them too,as I don't need to hang my Austin racing cans on them,that's the reason I jumped on them when I did,they were to good a deal to pass up. The recipient stated they were £900ish and I payed £420 for them and they were like new.. Damn,I bet they're loud! Sweet looking,mind.

Yes they are.... I usually remove the baffles in all exhaust,but when I bought them they didn't come with baffles,so I messaged Austin racing and bought them. Just for m.o.ts I've left these in,when as when I changed the header's they became way to loud.... Police magnet.... So left them in,it's still loud thow.....

Are the cans secure enough without using hangers? Or is there a bracket I don't see?

I think SC project do the same. As u can see from this pic seat coul,tank side pads rear Res,gone,and I bought some 4d Carbon wrap cur to shape for the side panel,all helps protect it.....

No.... From what I can see the sc project needs the rear hangers,but there bound to be others that don't need the rear legs to attach the exhaust, maybe cheeper... If u got any questions of what I've done I'll be more than happy to help....

Exhaustive (ha) scientific research shows...
The stock headers & cat = 7.28kgs
Stock cans = 8kgs
Stock mirrors and tail unit = 2.4kgs
Barends = .28kgs
Toolkit = .5kgs.
So a total of 18.46kgs taken off (40.7 lbs)
Set this against what I've put back on..
The entire lextek headers plus link pipes is 6kgs,I didn't need them so 5.2kgs.
I need to weigh the Akra cans,tail tidy and barend mirrors,but I'd hope to have dropped off at least 8kgs (17.5 lbs)
Doesn't seem like a massive amount so far!
