Deffo agree there, and riding em too is great therapy.. lee.. u just start with the small things, get a bit of confidence up and progress from there, theres a lot of satisfaction from doi g a job and seeing it work, that in itself bids confidence, a few good tools and a good Haynes workshop manual and you good to go

I know, and I do a bit myself, and like u said, there's a feeling afterwards, like the rear light. When it was done I was so chuffed, with myself, but I do get so worked up over the smallest of things... It sounds silly,I know but,it's there and it is what it is.. I'm so glad I got to talking to u pair, and meeting u comphy was wicked.... And I'm glad u asked about the foot plate... And riding with another fellow zed head... Was good... We will have,to meet up again, when the weather picks up... And I'm made up,ure happy with the new addition, wicked bud,wicked...

When i first saw a picture of the naked H2 someone posted on You Tube a year or so back i thought that looks the business, but it turned out it was a Photoshop creation and not the real bike, so i waited with bated breathe, now its out in the flesh and gotta say i too am a little let down, the price tag alone is beyond my limit,[ that goes for all new bikes these days] going from the smaller bike of say a 125cc and you are looking at £3 to 4 thousand pounds, and these bikes are aimed at 17 year old riders then up to £10++ for a zxr1000 £10 grand for a bike!, i know i am old and still remember buying a Mars bar for four pence,[ old money, that's less than a shilling] what are they now something like 60 to 70 pence [ nearly a pound] and they are smaller, but over the years my wages haven't gone up that much! I need to have a job like Comfysofa then i can afford lots of bikes LOL!
So you take the splash and get a new H2 say they sell for £16 grand, and then you have to insure it, Then you get ripped off again!
Now you want to make it lighter, so that means modifying it, some insurance companies wouldn't want to know you, i know when i did mine and updated the front disc and the end can, mine doubled from £170 to £325 and the excess also went up, and its taken two years to get it down.
And the way bikes are getting nicked each day make sure its locked up out of sight, i know i have taken all the buzz out of it all, it would have been cool to pull up at a bike club or pub etc and watch all the faces, but then they might be all on them, lol!
The Americans will be the biggest market for this bike it will sell like hot cakes, that's why it has a big end can to compile with emissions etc

Not as rich as you think...people see my overdraft on my phone app and their eyes pop out of their heads! - near death experience about 10 years ago taught me to say it and just do what you want to do...im just happy living with the debt Im just the same - the prices of bikes have sky rocketed...id love a new rsv4 or r1 or something like that but id have to pay over 10k just to essentially have the same bike with an electronics package...id rather make my old bike just handle better as most people cant take them to the limit anyway... id rather spend a grand making my front forks on the zed or the rsv4 for that matter better than a brand new oem that comes from the shops now....1k will get you a set of nix 30 cartridges for either bike improving the front end beyond oem.... In summary - a big let down....it had to look badass - that was the remit but they failed....you might be able to limit the damage (if you bought one) and did a bit of work on it. Yeah - i might still take a test ride but it'd have to be something else to ride to offset the looks...

I'm o.k. my bike is payed for,and I've been pretty lucky with aftermarket parts, slow coming but happy... But yes it's easy to get into, but hard to get out of... But anything that makes us happy, comes at a price.... U only live once anyway....

But in all fairness to u comphy and trebors bike, they are a better bike, for what I payed for mine, moding a standard zed is better in the long run, without dowt, and a better result... as long as u know what ure doing......

I guess in one way I'm lucky now, being 59 the house is paid off and I got no debt , one of the kids has left and the other is soon on her way so all the big expense is behind me so yes I can afford to pay cash for the new bikes if I chose..but admittedly they are getting out of most peeps reach and this will bite the manufactures on the ass in the long run as unit sales will be minuscule compared to the 80s and 90s..anyways the point I'm trying to make is there is a lot of satisfaction buying a bike and maki g it your own, moding and improving..hopefully..be it a 16 grand bike or 4 grand bike, dont have to be an all singing dancing model, as long as you are happy and get pleasure out of it so be it .. I do tend to spend a bit mind as I also live with the philosophy live for the day, seen so many peeps popping off now even in my age group, make u realise you cant take it with you... As for the 200bhp plus nowdays, 99 percent of peeps ain't gonna come close to useing the potential on the roads, but , I for one like the point and squirt just as much as going around corners and that is where in the lower gears you can use most of that power..electronics permitting .. to feel the stunning acceleration ..😎👍

Yes couldn't agree more,we are only here once.... And in theary my bike only cost me £4800 as the money I got from my 2008 zed was dead money anyway. I liked the look of the zed 1000r,but I never thought IDE end up with one,I was going to buy a green one like yours,it was a 2016 model, but I thought, for a little extra a could get the 1 I wanted,I guess, just because, not to many people would have one in Newport,I liked the grey and black, then my mate bought the 2018 model, but I wouldn't have bought any of the z1000r models after mine there not as nice, his is Matt black, not a fan of Matt black paint.... So I would have gone for the green one if mine never came out.... I like the orange and the green colours, very nice...

Your z1000R is a bloody good bike and a lot of improvements over the original gen 4 z1000, big upgrade on brakes and suspension, and still room to mod it to your own satisfaction too 👍
