Hi all,
I've had a pair of Sidi's for a few years and I'm chaning them. I'm thinking of getting some Oxtars as replacements - anyone got good/bad experiences with them??
I looked at the Alpine Stars SMX+ and SMX-R but they look a bit 'power ranger' to me...

I like my Oxstars which I use nearly every day ,the only thing I find is they could be a bit warmer but they are 100 % waterproof I also have a pair of Sidi corsers which are also very comfortable but not waterproof plus the screws keep falling out I would have no hesitation of buying either of these boots again .just try both on to see which feels right (the Oxtars have been the comfiest boots from new that I have had )

Tried the oxtars and they just didn't fit me very well - maybe I've got a funny shaped foot. Anyway, so many people seem to harp on about Daytona boots that I thought I'd take a look at them and try some on. They were very nice but £399 is a lot for boots..... Anyway, I scoured round the web and found some non-goretex Evo Sports for under £200 (about £210 delivered - still expensive but if they last a lifetime...) from Germany... If anyone's interested check this out: www.motshop.de/shop/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/926I ordered some today and I'll let you know what the experience is like...

i bought some oxtars in summer 05. Cant remember what model they were but they cost 120 quid so they werent top of the line but they were by no means cheap. They offered no ankle support and the synthetic leather all cracked around the toe crease within 12 months, even though i had treated them. I did wear them all year round but thought they were poor quality. The worst part though was that they had a waterproof label yet even in light showers water poured in somewhere around my toes, possibly where the toe slider was attached.
now i have A-stars smx plus and even though they creak alot, they are wicked. ;D

Go up 1/2 size if getting Oxtars, they're a bit small fitting, I got the ones with internal support (lace-up) takes longer to put on but very "solid" feel, Best cure I found for squeaky boots is good old Mr Sheen house polish

Doc Martens for me everytime! No squeeking! And you can walk around all day with them on, some leather around your ankles and just as waterproof as your normal power ranger booties! And for the record I used to wear Alpinestars, but they are just too damn expensive, too cumbersome and they always fuckin squeek! In fact I have some Black SMX size 8 which will only come out if i do a track day apart from that I use em to stash my stash!!!! after all the amount of times i have had offs in the 20 years or so I have been riding its always been gravel rash doen my arms n legs that has been the issue and beofre evert=yone started wearing Racing boots it was always Trainers, Doc Martens, or fricken Derri Boots so? If you wanna walk around squeekin like a mouse party in a cheese factory keep on buying them £100+ pair of Squeeky Boots I`ll keep my Docs thanks Guys! Mark

I had a merc take out the front of one of my bikes, I was doing about 50, bike hit his front corner and stopped dead. I went over bars, over car, bounced around like a rag doll etc etc... Ankle skinned, Little toe halved width ways, and lower shin sliced open (To bone) by the light switch...so I do see the pros in proper armoured boots.

This is the sort of debate that will run til the world ends! I've got unarmoured HG's and only just past my ankle but the fact my bike rolled of it's sidestand and onto my foot as well as me dropping it after a u-turn knocking/bruising my shin on the foot peg jumping off the bloody thing, I've decided to invest in some armoured boots next week. Don't want anything too heavy though and as I'm a size 3 or 4, my choice maybe limited anyway I want white ones too ;D

I'm pretty sure you can get these in a 3 AND 4. Blimey, I'm already moaned at coz I take ages to get ready when out on bikes, I'd have to add on an extra hour to do them up And as for washing up, I have a dishwasher, nowt so common as washing up. Bit like having a black zed. Goose ;D no, the KTM is a mate's ... there is video evidence of which I'm struggling to upload as proof, so may leave until tomoz. I'm just in from work and my fist is about to go thru the pc screen
